From Chat Box to Something That Does the Work
On its own, Claude can only reason about what you paste in. Connectors change that — each one gives it a capability it doesn't have out of the box. Five do most of the heavy lifting.
The Five
Perplexity — a research engine. Deep research and live data from across the web, with sources.
Firecrawl — eyes on the web. Pull a page's content, grab brand assets, run quick competitor research by scraping and crawling.
PostHog — product analytics as a private investigator. Claude digs through your funnels and events to find bugs and the exact points where users drop off.
Playwright — Microsoft's browser automation, giving Claude hands: click, fill forms, navigate, and test your site end to end in a real browser.
Composio — one connector that links Claude to hundreds of apps — Gmail, Slack, Notion, Linear — instead of installing each separately, loading only the tools a given task needs.
Adding Them
In Claude Code, each is one command: claude mcp add --transport http <name> <url>, with Playwright running through npx instead. In the Claude app, they live under + → Connectors. The guide lists the exact URL for each.
A sensible habit with the app-linking ones especially: connecting an account gives Claude access to it, so grant what the task needs rather than everything at once.
What's in the Guide
What each connector does, when to reach for it, and the exact add command for all five.
