Delete Your Digital Footprint
Your name, address and phone number are probably listed on data-broker and people-search sites right now. Removing them is your legal right, but doing it site by site is tedious. This field guide shows how to hand most of that legwork to Claude.
Find It, Then Draft the Removals
Point Claude at a data-broker opt-out list — the free "BADBOOL" list is the classic — and ask it to find the sites that show your information and pull their direct opt-out links. Then have it draft a removal request for each site that matches that site's exact requirements.
Only act on sites that already list you. Don't hand brokers data they didn't have.
Submit With Claude in Chrome
With the Chrome connector, Claude can navigate to each site and pre-fill the opt-out form, flagging what needs you. Be realistic about the split:
- Claude: navigating and pre-filling forms
- You: CAPTCHAs, which Claude won't solve
- You: email or phone confirmations
- You: any ID upload — blur the numbers
California residents can use the state's DROP portal to request deletion from 500+ registered brokers with one free form.
It Isn't One-and-Done
Data tends to reappear, so plan to re-run the process every few months. For more complete broker lists, see privacyrights.org/data-brokers.
